Independent designer
Editorial and identity work for cultural institutions, publishers and the occasional software company that wants to look like neither.
2023 — 2026
384 pages, four languages, one grid. Set in Lyon and Suisse across a spread that had to survive translation.
Wordmark, packaging and a typographic system for an outfitter that sells almost nothing online.
A quarterly essay journal redesigned around one typeface and a very stubborn baseline grid.
Process
Read the archive, the back issues, the constitution. Whatever the institution actually is.
Set the structure before a single word is placed. Everything downstream depends on it.
Draw it at real size, printed, on the paper it will actually be printed on.
Files, specimens and a written rationale, so the next designer inherits reasoning rather than guesses.

Occasionally, when they want to look like a publisher rather than a startup. If you want the current SaaS look I am the wrong choice.
Editorial work is quoted by extent and complexity; identity starts at 18,000 euro. I quote fixed and I do not bill hourly.
Type-led sites, yes, working with a developer I have used for years. Applications and dashboards, no.
Open source files, specimens and a written rationale for the decisions, so whoever inherits the work inherits the reasoning too.
Editorial, identity and type-led digital work. Send a brief, however rough.
